Morehead City Piano Concert Jan 27th

Monday, January 14th, 2008

There is an excellent piano concert scheduled for Sunday January 27th at the History Place in Morehead City. Yet again the Tedescos present the citizens of Carteret County with a wondrous musical treat. J.R. Tedesco is an accomplished concert pianist; she has performed for the Ed Sullivan Show, the Seoul Symphony, and even graced the White House with her talent. She was a student of internationally recognized concert pianist Eugene List. Mrs. Tedesco has studied piano since age four. Mrs. Tedesco also studied at the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

It’s a tradition in Morehead City. Every January there is a Bridal Fair held at the Crystal Coast Civic Center. Many couples choose to take the plunge into marriage from the Crystal Coast. It’s no surprise either, the moonlit summer nights along the beach are naturally romantic. The fair has booths covering every aspect of a wedding.

The longer I live in Emerald Isle the more obvious it becomes that this is a really cool place to live. I mean yesterday (or was it the day before?) I wrote a post about Friday Free Flicks brought to you by Emerald Isle Parks and Recreation. Then today I found out they will be sponsoring an adult indoor soccer league for four weeks. However teams must be registered by Jan. 8th. (more…)

Emerald Isle Friday Free Flicks

Friday, January 4th, 2008

One more great thing about Emerald Isle, the Parks & Recreation folks are showing free movies the second Friday of every month. In this day and age it is next to impossible to find something truly free. January 11th at 7pm Evan Almighty is playing, admission is free. A beverage and popcorn is only $1.

No outside snacks or beverages permitted….Im unsure where you would find refreshments at a lower price than $1 anyway ;)

Carolina Chocolate Festival Feb. 1-8, 2008

The 6th Annual Chocolate Festival will be held at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City. Only $8 for adults, children 5-12 yrs only $2, and children under 5 are free! Sunday admission is free with a military I.D.

The Carolina Chocolate Festival is always fun, there’s something for everyone. The last time I was there they had chocolate fountains that were not only pretty, but you could dip bananas and strawberries in them. There are chocolates from all over the globe in Morehead City for the festival. If you have little ones, or you just have a little sweet tooth, be sure not to miss out on the Carolina Chocolate Festival.

Folks travel from all over the state and out of state to experience the Chocolate Festival in Morehead City. I know this year will be even better than last year (if that’s possible).
