Atlantic Beach
Atlantic Beach is a great beach town in North Carolina. It has many things to offer that other vicinities around the Crystal Coast don’t. There’s plenty of places to stay while on vacation or visiting our area. Atlantic Beach has a few more options for dining, accomodations, as well as nightlife and other entertainment.
Atlantic Beach sits right on Beaufort Inlet which has been an important part of coastal North Carolina. Fort Macon which is East on Ft. Macon Road was built 1826-1834 to protect Beaufort Inlet. It fell to Union forces in 1862. After this important Union victory all of North Carolina’s coast fell to the North.
In the 1920’s it became a small resort. The town just continued to grow in popularity and thousands visit Atlantic Beach each year.
